Prison Rape in America

Glad to see Ross Douthat drawing attention to this much-neglected issue in his NYTimes blog last week. He based it on this amazing piece in the New York Review of Books.

The Douglass quote is, of course, about slavery, but what he says is true also about this ongoing cancer on our society.
